Encore was founded in April 2007 by Helen Grant. Helen pictured here is a dancer who has trained and worked professionally in the business for over 15 years giving her a vast knowledge of the entertainment and dance industry.

Helen's dancing career has taken her around the world working on many continents, working both on land and on cruise liners. Her many years dancing has lead her not only to become accomplished in her craft but to gain an understanding of the role good quality dancewear has played in her success and can personally vouch for the dancewear brands Encore supply.

Whilst travelling with her dancing, Helen met with the difficulties of obtaining certain dancewear items especially when out of the UK which lead her to opening Encore and the accompanying website. Here you can browse through items and have them delivered to your doorstep or dance school the world over.

Helen is still dancing and travelling and now also teaches both children and adults in a wide range of dance styles, and has now started her own dance school 'Encore School of Dance'.  During these periods Helen's Mum, also an accomplished dancer works in the Encore shop in Northallerton. Mrs Grant used to be a professional Latin American and Ballroom dancer so you can be assured of plenty of knowledge and sound advice at Encore from either Helen or her Mum.
 

Encore has an ever growing customer base especially for girls requiring pointe shoes,  These have to be fitted correctly and you can be assured that at Encore we take pointe shoe fitting very seriously, as we believe it is in the best interests of the girls.  Fittings are so popular with people travelling over an hours drive for a pointe fitting at Encore, that it is necessary to have an appointment booked if you require pointe shoes as we cannot guarantee a pointe fitting without one.
